I bought one version almost a year ago, wanted to try the new stuff, but after unpacking zip whenever I press the .exe file, nothing happens - the whole app just doesn't start.
Any clue why? - I checked for all 3 available version 0.8-0.10, the same thing happened.
I was considering maybe trying to buy DLC, but obviously won't do that if I can't run the game at all now (last year I never had this issue, so makes me wonder if something changed in the scripts that stops the app from launching now).

1. Something is wrong with your operating system. Solution: Reinstall Windows. 2. There is a possibility that you do not have all the drivers installed. 3. Your system is probably blocking the launch of the game. This may be due to the antivirus, or within the system itself. Solution: allow the exe file to run (for example, run as administrator). Also look at the work of the antivirus. Add the folder with the game to the exclusions. 4. Incorrect installation. Solution: Download manually, through the site (not from the itch application). Just unzip and play.
I have tracked down the issue, there was some faulty registry segment that was stopping some selective .exe files from launching - I cleaned up the computer registry by resetting it to defaults and now it launches fine ^^

Though making the DLC entirely detached from the main game might be an odd choice. As a former DEV of a now abandoned game I get why there is some monetary value attached to the DLC. Ya gotta fund yourself somehow. Even if the main support for the game is enough to keep the team running - A little extra cash grab on a past dlc(?) event is totally fine. Even more so since its 50% off.

Add-ons are played separately. It's like a new take on the same characters. There is no sequence. You can play the expansions first, then the main game, or vice versa.

if you already have a previos version and you buy the new update will your progress remain?
Complete the whole game, in the new version of the game you can skip those quests that were completed in the previous version using "New Game +".
